Acupuncture Treatment

Electroacupuncture
Electroacupuncture is a form of acupuncture where a small electric current is passed between pairs of acupuncture needles. This technique is often used to enhance the effects of traditional acupuncture, particularly for pain management and muscle-related conditions. The electrical stimulation can help to modulate nerve activity, increase blood circulation, and promote the release of natural pain-relieving chemicals in the body.

Orthopedic acupuncture
Orthopedic acupuncture is a specialized branch of acupuncture focused on the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, such as injuries, pain, and dysfunction related to the bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, and tendons. Practitioners of orthopedic acupuncture use traditional acupuncture techniques along with additional knowledge of orthopedic assessment, anatomy, and biomechanics to address issues such as sports injuries, arthritis, back pain, and repetitive strain injuries. Treatment aims to reduce pain, inflammation, and stiffness while improving mobility, function, and overall musculoskeletal health.

Motor point acupuncture
Motor point acupuncture is a technique that targets specific motor points in the body. Motor points are areas where the motor nerve enters the muscle, making them particularly sensitive and responsive to stimulation. In motor point acupuncture, fine acupuncture needles are inserted directly into these motor points to elicit a therapeutic response. This technique is often used to treat musculoskeletal conditions, such as muscle pain, spasm, and dysfunction, by targeting the nerve-muscle junction to promote relaxation, improve muscle function, and alleviate pain.

Trigger point dry needling
Trigger point dry needling is a therapeutic technique used to treat myofascial pain and dysfunction. It involves inserting a thin filament needle directly into trigger points—hyperirritable spots within taut bands of skeletal muscle—to stimulate a healing response. The goal of trigger point dry needling is to release muscle tension, improve blood flow, and reduce pain and inflammation associated with trigger points. The insertion of the needle into the trigger point causes a local twitch response, which is believed to help deactivate the trigger point and restore normal muscle function.

Cosmetic acupuncture / Fascial rejuvenation
Cosmetic acupuncture, also known as facial acupuncture or facial rejuvenation acupuncture, is a holistic approach to skin health and beauty. It involves the insertion of fine acupuncture needles into specific points on the face and body to promote overall skin health, reduce signs of aging, and enhance facial appearance. During a cosmetic acupuncture session, the needles are inserted into acupuncture points on the face, as well as other areas of the body believed to influence skin health and vitality. The needles stimulate circulation, improve muscle tone, and encourage the production of collagen and elastin, which are essential for maintaining skin elasticity and firmness.

Additional Therapies

Acupuncture point injection therapies
Acupuncture point injection therapy (APIT) is an integrative therapy technique that involves the use of ultra-fine needles to administer gentle injections of substances like vitamins, minerals, and homeopathic remedies into acupoints and trigger points of muscles. This approach can lead to both local and systemic effects, including pain relief, reduction of inflammation, improvement of immune function, weight loss, and treatment of sleeplessness, anxiety, and other conditions. APIT entails the injection of medicinal and botanical substances into acupoints and trigger points, which serves the dual purpose of activating the point and enhancing the pharmacological effect of the injected substance. By leveraging the targeted approach of acupuncture, APIT is able to deliver potent, highly localized effects to achieve optimal outcomes for patients.  At Seasons acupuncture, we offer various types of injections including B complex, B 12, MICC, Traumeel, Zeel, Calmvalera, Sprascupreel.

Cupping/Myofascial release
Cupping therapy uses suction cups on the skin to improve circulation and relieve muscle tension. Myofascial release involves applying pressure to release muscle tightness and restore mobility. Both techniques are often used together to address musculoskeletal issues.

Moxibustion
Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine therapy that involves burning a herb called moxa (made from dried mugwort) on or near the surface of the skin at specific acupuncture points. The heat generated from the burning moxa is believed to stimulate circulation, promote healing, and balance the flow of qi (vital energy) in the body. Moxibustion is commonly used to alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, boost the immune system, and improve overall well-being. It is often used in conjunction with acupuncture but can also be administered as a standalone therapy.

Microneedling
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that involves the use of a device containing fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. These micro-injuries stimulate the body's natural wound healing process, resulting in increased collagen and elastin production. The benefits of microneedling include improvement in skin texture, reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, fading of scars (including acne scars), and overall skin rejuvenation. The procedure can be performed on various parts of the body, including the face, neck, décolletage, and hands.

LED light therapy
LED light therapy utilizes specific wavelengths of light to penetrate the skin, offering benefits for both pain management and facial rejuvenation. It aids in pain relief by promoting circulation, reducing inflammation, and relaxing muscles. For facial rejuvenation, it stimulates collagen production, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, evens skin tone, and improves texture and elasticity.
